On the night of 5/31/23, I was listening to some prayer points for America and the government when suddenly I found myself in a trance. I was looking upon the waters of the nation of America. I saw the eyes of an alligator roaming, lurking, and peeking above the water. His mouth was just below the surface. I heard the Lord say, “Watch for the one or the alligator that lurks in the waters. They are waiting for their opportune time to strike.” And I came out of the trance. I believe the Lord is revealing the assignment of the season. This type of attack will manifest on many different levels such as, individually, corporately, nationally, and internationally.

 

What Is Leviathan?

What is the lurking or twisted serpent? Leviathan can be defined as a sea monster, a sea serpent, a very large aquatic creature, especially a whale, a thing that is very large or powerful. In the Bible it’s depicted as a whale or crocodile. Leviathan in Hebrew means twisted and coiled. This spirit is in a class of demonic spirits known as marine or water spirits.

Describing Leviathan

We can this spirit in a few different places in the Bible. Let’s start with Isaiah 27:1 NLT, “In that day the Lord will take his terrible, swift sword and punish Leviathan the swiftly moving serpent, the coiling, writhing serpent. He will kill the dragon of the sea. In this scripture we learn the Leviathan spirit is terrible, swift, its coils, and its writhing (twisting)." In Psalm 74:14 NLT its says, “You crushed the heads of Leviathan and let the desert animals eat him. When you’re dealing with this spirit it’s not a one-dimensional way of attack, it comes in a multifaceted way of attack to affect you." In Job 41:1, 34 describes how Leviathan moves, “Can you draw out Leviathan with a hook, or snare his tongue with a line which you lower? 34He beholds every high thing; He is king over all the children of pride.” From this scripture we can gather one of the main attacks of this spirit are words and pride.

How Leviathan Is Attacking This Season

Leviathan is a high-ranking spirit that we’ll have to deal with until Jesus comes back. In Revelation 17:15 CSB it says, “15 He also said to me, “The waters you saw, where the prostitute was seated, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and languages.” This scripture gives us insight to how Leviathan influences. The earmarks of Leviathan are pride, intimidation, slander, and self-righteousness. We must be very discerning and wise in how we move in this season. Watch and guard your relationships. This spirit loves to break covenant relationships through accusation, rebellion, and intimidation. Leviathan influences people to have a competitive spirit and exalt themselves to be greater than what they are.

For us not to get hooked by the king of pride, we must not have anything in common with this spirit. Patricia King says it like this, “We must not give the enemy a landing strip in our lives.” If you don’t deal with the pride it will deal with you. James 4:7 NLT says, “So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Humility will keep you from getting hooked by Leviathan. When we humble are ourselves and resist the enemy, we are coming out of agreement with the enemy. This is especially important to do when going through relational attacks. Don’t try to defend yourself. Stay humble and let God fight your battles, and you’ll come out victorious on the other side.

Another tactic Leviathan uses is deception and attacks against our purity. We are seeing this begin to infiltrate the Body of Christ at an alarming rate. Pride is causing many to be deceived and follow doctrine of demons thinking its Biblical. I encourage you to really know the Bible. Know what you believe so you don’t fall into deception. There are popular leaders leading their followers astray. They are allowing their opinions and desires to trump the truth of God’s word because, their consciouses have been seared (1 Timothy 4:12). Many are justifying sin and using scripture wrongly to back it. Be mindful of who you’re listening to. Protect your ear gates. More and more we’re going to see to see a falling away in the Body of Christ, and a remanent rise. Anchor yourself in the Word of God so you’re not led into deception.

Lastly, the other area we must pray for concerning Leviathan, is the nations. The enemy is trying to bait nation against nation prematurely. We must pray for the nations. Leaders of nations are getting hooked by Leviathan because of their pride and are literally losing their minds. They have become god in their own mind and heart. This reminds me of the story in Daniel 5 when God wrote on the wall. Daniel came and interpreted the writing giving a message to Belshazzar. Daniel explained how the king’s father, Nebuchadnezzar, heart was lifted up in pride and his spirit hardened was driven by God to the wilderness like a mad man (Daniel 5:18-21). Belshazzar would suffer the similar fate. Daniel 5:22 NLT says, “You are his successor, O Belshazzar, and you knew all this, yet you have not humbled yourself. 23 For you have proudly defied the Lord of heaven.” Pray for the leaders of nations. The Lord took him out that night because of his pride.

We must pray for the waters of America. The enemy would love nothing more than to start a war in the waters. Pray for the borders all around the United States. Some other places the Lord has highlighted are France, New York City, and London. I had a recent encounter where I was taken to one of the bridges in London but, at the same time I was in New York City. I felt led to pray against attacks. I also sensed whatever happened in either city would affect or be connected to the other city. Stay humble and stay prayerful in this season so you don’t get hooked by Leviathan.
